Midwifery The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage For best results, a pregnant woman receives Maya Abdominal Massage (MAM) in the same rhythm as she sees her childbirth provider, (ND, CPM, CNM, DEM, OB/GYN, etc..) That is, monthly, then bi-monthly, then weekly as the baby grows. This ensures regular care of the ligaments and attention to the uterus. Women who receive regular care are more likely to give birth close to the time estimated, and have shorter labours. They are less likely to have babies in undesirable positions and suffer the common complaints of pregnancy, that is excessively frequent urination and Sacro-iliac joint pain. Of course, every body is different and there is no way to predict the challenges one will face. |
